Prakash Thapa, born in Palungtar, Thantipokhari, Gorkha, is the son of a police Sub Inspector Mr. Dip Bahadur Thapa Magar and Dhun Maya Thapa. He is a PhD research scholar in Creative Writing and has passed MA English Literature from Tribhuvan University. He has taught English literature for more than 20 years involving in P.N. Campus, SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Gandaki and Ridgewater School.  He has also studied Postgraduate Certificate at Keele University and Stratford College London in the U.K. He is married to Sabitri Moktan Thapa and is now living with his family in Pokhara City. 


He has travelled to Annapurna Circuit, Annapurna Base Camp, Lomanthang, the Langtang Valley, Gosaikunda, Everest Gokyo Lake, Panchase, Sikles Village and some countries of Europe such as England and Wales. He is influenced by the diverse culture of Nepal, and the silent reverberation of mountains and the Himalayas: the innocent and smiling people, Buddhist chhortens and the prayer flags.  


The first ever long trek he did was when he went to Thorong Pass with Sanjay, one of the highest mountain passes, 5416 meters from sea level. Ever since he dreamt of writing non-fictions reflecting life and its various dimensions.  He has made a solo trek to Gosaikunda, Lomanthang, Everest Gokyo Lake in order to write books such as Langtang dekhi London samma, Distant Horizons and Annapurna Memories and others.  


He writes non-fictions and his writing basically reflects travel literature, philosophy, nature and silence, meditative awareness, Buddhism and its compassion, freedom, humanity and the changing nature of space-time and the accounts of his life and existence in particular.
